Female Dog aged Adult.
Meet Annie, a distinguished 7.5-year-old Redbone Coonhound who is more than ready to trade shelter life for a cozy spot in the sun. Having bounced around a bit since her puppy days, Annie’s ultimate dream is simple: a quiet, predictable retirement home where she can finally put down roots.
Annie is a total sweetheart with people, greeting strangers with the kind of gentle friendliness that instantly wins you over. She’s remarkably well-mannered—she doesn't jump, sits politely, and happily gives you her paw for a good treat. While she gets along fine with people of all ages, she prefers the company of adults or older children who understand boundaries.
As a hound, she has a curious, adventurous spirit and can be a bit of an escape artist if left unsupervised, but don't let that fool you—she is an absolute dream on a leash and walks calmly by your side. Her ideal day consists of two main activities: leisurely strolls and serious sunbathing. Give her a patch of warm grass to lie next to you on, or a baby pool to splash around in on a hot day, and she is the happiest hound on earth. She does have a sensitive side and is scared of storms and loud noises, so she’ll need a comforting human to hunker down with when the weather gets rough.
When it comes to other animals, Annie knows what she likes. She prefers a home without cats, and while she can be selective with other dogs, she has successfully spent time with polite male dogs who respect her boundaries and don't jump on her.
If you are looking for a dignified, sweet-natured companion to share your porch, your walks, and your quiet evenings, Annie is ready to be your loyal best friend.
Annie is a 6 year old Redbone Coonhound. She is a perfect lady and as polite as they come. We've recently discovered she has had 5 different homes in her 6 years. Passed around, though no by no fault of her own. She is wonderful both on and off leash. She knows all her basic commands and is a go-with-the-flow kind of dog. Annie does well with most other dogs, however she prefers people to dogs. She doesn't mind dogs, and will pounce around for a bit, but tires quickly and would rather spend time with those who have a medium to low energy level. Annie doesn't meet a stranger. She loves all people and will accept affection from anyone who will give it to her.
