24Tucker - D241605

Male Dog aged 1 year.

**Tucker will only be available for private meets. He will not attend Saturday adoption events**

Meet Tucker!
Sex: Male
Age: 1 Year Old
85 lbs.
Dogs: Yes!
Kids: Yes! May do best with older kiddos as he is a big guy, who doesn't quite know how large he is.
Cats: Would do best with a dog savvy cat.
Crate Trained: Yes!
House Trained: Yes!

Tucker is a fun, happy boy who’s beginning to settle into training nicely. He’s showing great curiosity about his surroundings and a willingness to engage once he’s had time to take everything in. As he continues to gain structure and consistency, his focus and responsiveness will only improve.

Tucker’s sits are already very solid, he responds quickly and with enthusiasm. His downs are still a work in progress; he’ll sometimes follow the lure and settle for a few seconds before popping back up, especially when there’s a lot going on around him. We’re continuing to build duration and reliability in this command with short, successful repetitions to keep him engaged.

He can be excitable, occasionally jumping up for attention, but he’s learning that calm behavior earns praise and rewards.

Tucker’s recall has improved since his previous session. Working on a short leash, he’s already showing more attentiveness and quicker turnarounds when called. When distracted by scents, he may still need a little leash guidance, but he’s catching on quickly. Out at the park, his name recognition was strong for a new environment — he responded happily to most recalls, and when he needed help, a gentle leash assist was all it took to bring his attention back.

At the park, we focused heavily on loose leash walking since Tucker is naturally strong and eager to explore. Any time he hit the end of the leash, we practiced direction changes and short resets to encourage him to check in and follow along. By the end of the walk, he began to settle into the rhythm, walking more calmly at his handler’s side.

Tucker enjoyed taking in all the sights and smells at Johnson Springview. He’s very curious and observant but remains non-reactive — even when a neighbor’s dog barked at him from behind a fence, he simply looked and carried on. We spent time at a bench working on settling; within a few minutes, he chose to lay down on his own and calmly watched the world go by. This was a great sign of progress and growing comfort with stillness in busy environments.

Tucker is a sweet, social boy who’s starting to balance his natural enthusiasm with structure and self-control. His focus is improving each session, and he’s building a stronger connection with his handler. He’s making good progress, with time and routine, Tucker will continue to flourish!

Our adult dog adoption fee is $300 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card) and includes neuter, DAPP, Rabies and Bordetella vaccines, deworming, microchip, and lifetime registration.

24Vito - D241637

Male Dog aged Juvenile.

**Vito will only be available for private meets. He will not attend Saturday adoption events**
Meet Vito!
Sex: Male
Age: 10 Months
Weight: About 38 lbs

Crate Trained: Yes!
Potty Trained: Work in progress, needs to be on a structured schedule.
Leash Trained: Work in progress and improving!
Dogs: Yes!
Cats: Would do best with dog savvy cats
Kids: Probably 10 years or older due to his puppy exuberance.

My name is Vito! And I’ve been working hard on my training. I’m getting really reliable with my sits and downs, whether I’m in front or at my handler’s side. I can usually hold my stays for 45–60 seconds at 20–30 feet, and in quieter places I can stretch that to a couple of minutes. Busy spots sometimes make me creep forward, but I’m learning to settle with practice.

My heel work is coming along well. I like to start out ahead, but I settle into position quickly with reminders. I’m straighter at the side now and staying more focused, even when we pass people, kids, dogs, or bikes. I check in often and follow pace and direction changes nicely.

Recalls are one of my strengths. On long lines I’ll sprint right back, even from 40–50 feet, and I finish with a focused sit. In really busy areas, sometimes I pause for a smell or person, but with a little help I remember what I’m supposed to do.

I’m curious by nature, so distractions catch my eye, but I’m learning “leave it” and getting better at responding to just a verbal cue. Settling in busy places like malls or near fountains is getting easier—I can now stay down longer even when there’s a lot going on!!

I’ve had lots of exposure to new things: playgrounds, statues, fountains, crowds, even the big bear at Bass Pro. I was cautious at first, but with encouragement I gain confidence quickly.

With other dogs I’m playful and polite, and that’s helping me stay neutral when I see them during training. I’m also doing well with my routine. I settle in the crate, I’ve been accident free for a minute!

Overall, I’m a social, eager pup who loves working with my handler. My recall and heel are improving steadily, my impulse control is getting stronger, and I’m building confidence everywhere I go. With consistency and practice, I’m well on my way to becoming a reliable and well-mannered companion.

25Aunt Bea Taylor - D251846

Female Dog aged Young Adult.

Name: Aunt Bea
Breed: Great Pyrenees mix
Age: Estimated 1 - 2 years old
Weight: ~60 - 65 #
Dog friendly: Yes
Cat friendly: Yes (very interested, but totally friendly
Kid friendly: Yes
House trained: No potty accidents
Crate trained: Unknown
Kennel trained: Yes, calms and does not fuss
Leash Trained: Yes, needs experience but walks gently with no jerking or pulling.
Car trained: Does not love to get in, but once clicked in, rides very well, quietly and calmly

Aunt Bea (We call her Bea, or Bea Bea) is a very sweet and loving girl who has playful puppy traits and can be a bit naughty! She loves to sneak and steal stuffed animals, shoes, socks, small rugs, etc... and take these treasures away to be chewed up happily. These traits are just young dog behaviors, and she will surely grow out of this phase with some gentle guidance from her people.
It is believed that she is a Great Pyrenees mix and 60-65#. The vet tech at her alteration appointment thought she might be closer to 1 year old than 2, but I am guessing in that range. She does have some young energy about her and is playful, silly and wants to chew!
She enjoys wandering outside in the yard, noticing the world around her and meeting other dogs and animals on our property. She has had introductions to horses, pigs and chickens through the fence (and did well, very interested, but respectful) and with our family dog and our friendly cat in the yard. She has shown a lot of interest in the cat and will follow him with friendly excitement, but has never offered to touch, bite, mouth or cross any physical lines with him. He trusts her enough to lay down and expose his belly in front of her and he always "knows" about dogs. I think its possibly that she might give chase if a cat ran and she was unguided, but she has shown nothing but friendly interest to ours. This is also behavior that could certainly be trained as she matures. She has done some digging, trying to dig under the fence to join our livestock dogs in an adjacent field/yard and we are working on correcting that. She is very interested in meeting the livestock dogs and pays them a lot of attention. In the house, she is living with one other dog, a rough collie who is (8) and rules the roost. Bea has been very friendly; initiates play and follows our dog's lead. I get the impression that she is comforted by having an older dog showing her the ropes. Bea is more exuberant than our older girl, so does get an occasional correction, which she takes like a champ. She immediately backs off and pays attention when "scolded". Most of these incidents occur when she steps on a foot or crashes into our dog unexpectedly in play...not a bit of aggressiveness or dominance shown by her so far.
Bea LOVES my three kids. I have 18-, 10- & 9-year-olds and she has been totally fun, gentle, loving, playful, etc... and has a great time with them. She is large enough (and exuberant enough in some moments) to knock a small child over accidentally so keep that in mind, but I have no hesitation in trusting her intentions and behavior around littles. In general, she is playful, then calm and gentle in the house.
She free roams our home and yard (with some closed doors where she likes to "borrow" items from) for the most part. For her spay procedure, we set up a dog kennel (not crate) in our dining room and although she does love going in, once there, she settles immediately, finds a sleeping spot and is quiet and such a good girl. When she is bored (in or out of the kennel), she will go find herself a toy or bone to chew and is enjoying tug of war with her rope toys. She is sleeping overnight in the kennel and is quiet without fussing or whining (she cried a bit after coming home from surgery, but that was expected, and I let her sleep on a dog bed in my room with me that night. She seems to drink more than our other dog, eats well (with a bit of canned in warm water with her dry food) and has always cleaned her plate. She seems to already know the feeding time routine and is taking her medications in a bit of chicken or hotdog with no issues. She has not offered any strong signals to go out, but I offer the option often and she comes and goes, does her business outside and has had no potty accidents in the house.
Bea has great guarding instincts and is already showing herself to be a good family protector. She has a strong and loud alert bark and is barking at occasional noises or neighbor dogs who are alerting, but not at all incessantly. She is mostly quiet with occasional alerts during the day or evening. She listens to the other dogs and joins in occasionally, but I honestly expected more barking than she has done.
Bea walks well on the leash but shows inexperience with crossing in front of you while walking and sometimes tangling herself up in the leash a bit. She does not pull or jerk on the leash and walks gently and respectfully for us. Due to her surgery, she has not been out on any long walks with us, but hopefully this week we will get her moving a bit more as I am interested in seeing her out on the trail, passing other people and dogs, etc... So far all signs lead me to believe that she will be friendly and interested and do very well out in the bigger world.
While she is hesitant to climb up into the car, once in, she rides very well and calmly. She is clipped into a dog leash seat belt clip and sits or lays quietly in the back seat.
We all adore Bea; she is very lovable and has a wonderful personality that would fit well with a family. With some guidance and time, I know she will develop into a wonderful family dog and guardian if that is your goal.
*PS... Bea obviously has not been exposed to livestock or used as an LGD. Although her future lies in a home and family setting, I would recommend learning about the LGD breeds and traits so you can guide her into the best version of herself. I recommend the FB group "Training Support for Livestock Guarding Dogs"; I have learned so much about raising LGD breeds (and dogs in general) as well as personality traits, training tips, etc...

25Charlene Darling - D251848

Female Dog aged Young Adult.

This girl is up for adoption, and boy is she a superstar 🤩
25Charlene Darling (aka Moey or Mojo)
Breed: Shepherd/Basenji Mix
Age: Approximately 1 Year Old
Weight: 45 lbs
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Unknown
Kids: Unknown, but based on her sweet and gentle temperament I would say yes!
House Trained: Yes, uses dog door and will signal at the door if dog door is closed
Crate Trained: Not a fan, but will go in, whine at first, then settle
Leash Trained: Yes
Charlene Darling (we call her Moey or Mojo) is an incredibly sweet, gentle and loving dog. When she first arrived from the shelter, she was very shy and nervous, had never used stairs or dog doors, was scared of going inside the house and did not understand playing with toys. This girl is a completely different dog now! She is running up and down stairs, charging through dog doors, playing like crazy with her foster brother and toys, and loves being with her people inside and outside. She absolutely adores her foster brother (the feeling is mutual 😀) and they are pretty much inseparable. Our resident dog definitely expedited the learning and “coming out of her shell” process. She would love another dog in the house, but I believe she would also be ok as the only dog, as long as she gets lots of love! She is medium energy and will match the energy and play style of another dog. She has met dogs of all sizes and done great. She has not been exposed to cats in her foster home, but I think she would be fine with a cat with a slow introduction. There are no children in her foster home, however based on her sweet and gentle nature, she would most likely be great with children. She is not a finicky eater and loves treats. She rides well in the car, but is a little nervous about getting in, though she is really improving. She loves going for walks, but does need some work on pulling while on leash. She is easy to live with, hardly ever barks, and is very well behaved in the house. She can be left loose in the house (minus a few rooms closed off) with our resident dog for several hours. The best part, she is a TOTAL snuggle bug ❤️ Whoever adopts this girl is going to be so happy!

25Emerald City - D251872

Female Dog aged Young Adult.

Meet Emerald City or as I call her - Emmy!
Around 1.5-2 years old
11 lbs
Spayed female chi mix
Dogs: Yes, with management
Cats: Yes, with management
Kids: unknown
Housetrained: mostly and has learned the dog door, but has occasional accidents
Leash trained and crate trained: Yes!

Little Emmy is a bouncy, happy, fun girl. She has evolved so much since joining her foster home and has really built so much trust in her foster mom and confidence in herself. Once treats come out she shows off her cute sit and is eager to learn. Out and about she does well on walks, with occasional reminders to stay focused and keep walking when passing other walkers.

She is snuggly, loving, attentive, smart and sweet with her people and she wants to do well. She has been exposed to lots of sights, sounds, places and people and is very quickly experiencing new things calmly and confidently. She occasionally needs verbal reminders that she't not in charge, but responds well and looks to her person for guidance. She’s learning fast, building confidence and trust in people. She will need someone willing to work on this further.

Emmy is a wonderful girl, great coworker at home, a joy to walk and a wonderful car rider - not getting sick or being stressed on car rides. She’s looking for a kind, dog experienced owner to love and continue to work with her.

25Floyd Lawson - D251851

Male Dog aged Young Adult.

🍑💕Meet sweet, adoptable Floyd - the newest addition to this week adoptable dogs 💕🍑

Floyd Lawson - Young Adult Male Dog (just under 1 year)
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Age: 1-2 years old
Weight: 13 lbs.
Dogs: Yes and NEEDS ANOTHER PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG in the home
Kids: Unknown
Cats: Interested, but weary - will bark at the resident cat in foster
Crate Trained: Yes - does not bark and can be left up to 3 hours in his crate during the day
House Trained: Yes, with consistent routine, but does not alert you to go out
Leash Trained: Floyd needs to work on leash walking, but is improving. He is scared by sounds and cars going by, so he will need someone that will be mindful to ensure he is secure on the leash during walks.
Car Rides: He is a great car rider

Hi, I’m Floyd Lawson!
I’m a young, dashing 13 lb. Chihuahua mix, and I LOVE to explore! I’m a little shy when we first meet, but if you’re patient, I’ll be your loyal little shadow. Once I warm up to you, I’ll stick right by your side—promise! I need another dog in the home to lean on for confidence, to play with and to learn from.
I’m crate-trained and sleep quietly through the night. I know to potty outside (just let me out quickly, please!). I love hanging out with other dogs, playing with toys, and—oh boy—treats and cookies are the best! I’m also good in my crate for car rides.
My hearing is top-notch, so I’ll be your tiny watch dog. If there’s anything scary nearby, I’ll let you know before you even notice!
I’m still learning how to walk confidently on a leash, but I'm doing better as I wasn't exposed to the sights and sounds of normal neighborhood life like cars. My foster mom is helping me get braver and teaching me that cars aren’t so scary if I keep my distance.
My dream home? I’d love a doggy friend to play with, a safe and secure fenced backyard to run in, and kind humans to love me forever. I'll happily join you on the couch for TV time. I will do best with an experienced dog owner and patience to allow me to decompress and learn the routine, to trust you and to build confidence in myself. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal buddy, I’m your guy! I can’t wait to meet you!

25Humpty Dumpty - D20724

Male Dog aged Adult.

25Humpty Dumpty
Male
Frenchie/mix
Approx. 20 lbs.
Approx. 5 yrs. old
Kids: Yes
Dogs: Yes

Yep, it’s me again! You can’t get rid of me that easily. I know you’ve got questions — don’t worry, I come with answers (well… most of the time).
Q1. How old am I?
I’m about 5–6 years old. I’m a Frenchie and Pug mix (yep, I’m adorable). I weigh around 20 lbs — compact, but full of personality!
Q2. What’s my personality like?
I’m a happy-go-lucky little guy who loves walks, fetch, and cuddling all day long. Basically, your new best friend.
Q3. How do I feel about other dogs and cats?
I love playing with other dogs! If you’re not in the mood to play, that’s cool — just let me know and I’ll give you some space.
As for cats, I’m okay with them… but I definitely prefer doggy pals.
Q4. What about kids?
I enjoy being around children, as long as they’re respectful and kind. Gentle hands, happy heart — that’s my vibe.
Q5. Am I potty trained?
Yes! I’ve been doing really well in my foster home. It took me a little time to figure out what humans expect, but now I’ve got it down!
I’ve been waiting for someone special — could it be you? I’ve got the wiggles, the kisses, and the loyalty… all I need now is a forever home. Let’s make some memories together (and maybe share snacks, too)! 🐾💕
From Foster Family:
Humpty Dumpty (Wilbur) is an incredibly smart and trainable dog.
Before we rescued him, he spent over five long months in a kennel. Can you imagine the fear and confusion he must have felt during that time?
And yet, despite everything he’s been through, he still chooses to trust humans. He’s shown so much courage in facing his fears, and he’s worked hard every single day to overcome the challenges from his past.
These days, he rarely needs to wear a belly band at home — and even when he does, it’s always dry. Not a single accident. I couldn’t be prouder of him.
Wilbur has come such a long way — not just in training, but in spirit.
With patience, love, and a little guidance, he’s blossoming into the amazing dog he was always meant to be.
If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and resilient companion, Wilbur is living proof that second chances truly change lives. His heart is big, his progress is real, and now… all he needs is a forever home to call his own. 🐾

25Lilly - D251892

Female Dog aged Young Adult.

25Lilly
Female
Bernie/Doodle
3.8 yrs. old
54 lbs.
Dogs: Yes
Cats: No
Housetrained: Yes
Leash Trained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Kids: Yes, but could knock down little ones.

Hi there! I’m Lilly — your soon-to-be best friend. 🐾
I’m a 54-pound bundle of love, energy, and goofiness. My favorite place in the world is wherever you are — whether that’s sitting right at your feet or curling up on your lap (I know, I’m not exactly lap-sized, but I don’t let that stop me!).
I’m house trained, obedience trained, and I love being part of the family. I get along great with kids and most other dogs, and while I can be a little cautious when I first meet new people, I warm up quickly once I know you’re friendly. Then you’ll get my full tail-wagging, happy dance welcome every time you walk in the room.
My perfect day? Running around the backyard, playing fetch or tug-of-war, going for a hike or car ride, and then snuggling up close afterward. I’m active and full of energy, but I’m also a total sweetheart who just wants to be by your side.
I’m not perfect (who is?). I sometimes jump up on the counter if I think there’s a tasty snack up there, and I get very excited when I see cats — maybe too excited. I also bark when I hear strange noises, just to make sure we’re safe!
If you’re looking for a loyal, lovable, slightly goofy companion who will keep you smiling and moving, I might just be your girl. 💕
— Love,
Lilly

25Mr. Wickham - D251877

Male Dog aged Juvenile.

25Mr. Wickham
Male
7 mos. old
Standard Poodle
Approx. 50 lbs.
Dogs: Yes, and would benefit from having a mentor dog in the environment or people that are home a lot.
Cats: Yes, interested but respectful
Crate Trained: Yes
Children: Yes!
Leash Trained: In progress
Housetrained: In progress. Needs to be on a schedule and crated when you leave the home.

Mr. Wickham is a very sweet boy. He is afraid of loud noises and men, but these things can diminish in time with the proper attention. It takes him time to warm up but if you take it slow and give him a chance to build trust, he will be a wonderful companion. He plays quite well with other dogs as he was raised in a litter of 8. He is very quiet when left alone and should be in his crate until his habits are known. He is not a high energy dog and therefore well suited for someone that likes that temperament. He rides really well in the car and really likes snuggling up with his people!
