There's no place like home, and Auntie Em is hoping to find one of her very own! This adorable 2-year-old, 9-pound Chihuahua mix recently joined Friends for Life from another facility, and she's ready to charm her way into someone's heart!
If you're a fan of the scruffy Terrier look, prepare to fall head over heels! With her long, lanky legs, delightfully tousled hair, and perpetually fabulous bed head, Auntie Em has that irresistible "I woke up like this" look down to an art form. Who needs a hairbrush when you're this cute?
But Auntie Em is much more than just a pretty face! This little lady is energetic, attentive, and full of personality. She's easy to handle, has excellent leash manners, and hasn't shown any reactivity toward other dogs. She's a wonderful walking companion who enjoys being out and about with her humans.
And did we mention she LOVES playing ball? Auntie Em is always ready for a game of fetch, although she's developed her own slightly unconventional version. She'll happily chase the ball and release it right away, but bringing it all the way back to you? Well, that's apparently YOUR department! She's got the chasing part covered, and she figures teamwork makes the dream work!
With her abundant energy and attentive nature, Auntie Em would love a family who enjoys walks, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to have fun together. She's an engaging little companion who will keep you entertained with her playful antics and endearing personality.

No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!
Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member.
Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).
